"Grissini" – A 400 years long history

In the heart of Piedmont, where the scent of freshly baked bread hangs in the air, there exists a slender delight that has graced tables for centuries: Grissini. These elegant breadsticks, like golden wands, tell a tale of innovation, nobility, and the artistry of simplicity. It's story date back to mid-1600 when Antonio Brunero, a baker from Lanzo Torinese, invented grissini for the delicate constitution of prince Vittorio Amedeo II. Brunero crafts an ingenious dough—water, flour, yeast, and salt—stretching it until it becomes paper-thin. The result? A bread devoid of crumb, gentle on the young prince’s stomach. The house of Savoy then transformed the breadstick into a beloved snack, munching on grissini during performances at the theatre. The curious eyes of nobles and bourgeoisie followed suit making grissini known worldwide.

Our “Grissini”

Made with a unique “Savoir-Faire” and packaged by hand to keep their artisanal look and feel, they are produced with simple ingredients: wheat flour, sea salt, yeast and extravirgin olive oil.

Made also in a fun bitesize version as “Mini Grissini”, a mignon format that maintains the friability and fragrance of the classic breadsticks and can be enjoyed on the go at any moment of the day!

Serving suggestions

"Grissini" can be eaten as bread substitutes during the meals or in combination with cured meats, smoked fish and cream cheese as a light cocktail/party appetizer. They are also delicious with chocolate creams and jams to satisfy the sweetest palates.
